COUNTING TIME

A dream of grandeur.
A generational clash.
A race against time.
A dream of grandeur. A generational clash. A race against time. In this immersive ten-part audio saga, a young man travels back to Boston in the 1950s and finds himself entangled in a mafia war. Amidst this battle, he’s confronted by his family’s hidden past and the secrets his grandfather kept from him. An homage to the Golden Age of Radio, this podcast isn’t one you’ll want to miss.

HOW WE STARTED
Counting Time emerged in May 2020 through Boston University’s COMLab, a multipurpose media startup incubator. COVID-19 presented an insurmountable obstacle to conventional filmed production, with would-be actors and crew members locked down across the world, but an audio production could be recorded in the safety of actors' homes. The show’s creators sketched a retro film noir plot complete with gangsters and femme fatales. They fleshed it out in a virtual writers’ room over the following year. Counting Time grew from five episodes to an eventual ten and now, in its final form, comprises roughly two hours and 15 minutes of airtime. The majority of the cast and crew are Boston University students or Boston-based artists. The production’s affiliated composers reside all around the world, from Argentina to the Czech Republic. Dozens of contributors dedicated their time to make Counting Time what it is today.
